ACCOUNTING MANAGER

The Accounting Manager supervises the accounts payable, accounts receivable, and purchasing functions. This position manages the closing process and maintains a system of internal controls to ensure assets are safeguarded, billings and collections are accurate, and all financial reporting is prepared in compliance with generally accepted accounting principles in the United States \n\n\n\nBenefits Include:\n• Competitive wage based on experience\n• Free or discounted tuition benefits\n• Retirement benefits with an 8% match\n• Medical, Dental and Vision insurance\nEssential Roles and Responsibilities Include:\n• Supervises accounting staff and accounting functions (e.g., Accounts receivable, accounts payable, journal entries), including bank and other account reconciliations; the maintenance of the general ledger; and the development, maintenance, and monitoring of accounting policies and procedures.\n• Supports the preparation of financial statements, accounting reports, and other accounting materials\n• Supports external audits, 990 and other financial related compliance filings by gathering and preparing necessary reports and other materials for auditors\n• Ensures compliance with the state, federal and regulatory agencies reporting guidelines\n• A/P Review and check disbursements\n• A/R (non-student) Review and receipt processing \n• Performs other related duties as requested and assigned\nDesired Minimum Qualifications, Education, and Experience include:\n• Required: Bachelor’s degree in accounting \n• Required: A minimum of 7 years of related experience in an accounting field with leadership responsibilities\n• Preferred: Certified Public Accountant (CPA) credential\n• Possess a high degree of tact, discretion, and diplomacy in dealing with sensitive situations and individuals\n• Ability to supervise and to develop a team of accounting professionals\n• Ability to work independently and with a team of colleagues\n• Ability to set priorities and exercise sound judgement in a fast-paced environment\n• Ability to understand, interpret, explain, and apply rules and policies applicable to areas of responsibility\n• Strong organizational, verbal, and written communication skills\n• Ability to prepare clear, accurate, and concise correspondence, records, reports, and other documents\n• Expertise with Microsoft Office software applications, especially Excel\n• Preferably proficient with the Jenzabar database and/or other accounting software
