CUSTODIAN SECOND SHIFT

* Clean, sweep, scrub, and mop floors, stairways, halls, and other surfaces; renovate and renew floor finishes\n* Wash windows, walls, and woodwork\n* Clean and service lavatories and restrooms; sanitize and polish fixtures\n* Move furniture, supplies, and equipment as requested\n* Dust and clean furniture, exhibit cases, fixtures, and related furnishings; vacuum and shampoo carpets\n* Sweep walkways, shovel snow from sidewalks and entryways, and maintain orderly exterior premises\n* Maintain flowerpots and rock areas\n* Lock and unlock doors, check for lights left on, open windows as needed, and help provide building security when unoccupied\n* Collect and dispose of wastepaper and other waste materials\n* Perform minor maintenance and repairs to buildings and equipment\n* Maintain simple records of cleaning activities\n* Set up meeting rooms and equipment for internal and external groups\n* Perform routine snow removal and lawn care duties\n* Support innovation and continuous improvement within the department and college\n* Perform other related custodial and maintenance duties as assigned\n \nAdditional Information\n\n* Work may include lifting 50 pounds or more and exposure to hazards, which could result in physical injury.\n* Must observe established safety practices and procedures in working with chemicals, materials, and equipment.\n* Minimum Requirements:\n* Requires a high school diploma or GED.\n* Requires knowledge of the materials, equipment, and methods used in the cleaning and upkeep of buildings.\n* Ability to perform cleaning work, including the operation of extractors, vacuums, and other custodial equipment.\n* Basic computer software skills – Microsoft Office Suite-Word, Excel, etc., Outlook E- mail and Calendar.\n* Ability to follow communicated instructions and to work independently after instructions.\n* Ability to work well with co-workers.\n* Must have a current, valid driver’s license. \nPass Criminal Background Check.
