NUTRITION SUPPORT COORDINATOR

Under the supervision of the HDM/Nutrition Support Coordinator, this position will assist with the preparation of meals for the organization’s nutrition program. \nHours: 7:30 am – 4:00 pm\n\nDUTIES:\n1. Assist with the packaging and delivery of the meals.\n2. Assemble frozen meals for congregate and HDM participants. \n3. Assist HDM/Nutrition Support Coordinator with necessary paperwork and other tasks as requested. \n4. Cooperate with kitchen staff, and other employees and volunteers, in the preparation of the meals.\n5. Ensure that a systematic approach is utilized in the packaging and delivery of meals and referral of meal services that include changes in daily deliveries.\n6. Ensure that meal delivery equipment is properly cleaned and maintained. \n7. Provide back-up to home-delivered meal volunteers. Deliver meals to clients when there is a shortage of meal drivers. \n8. Keep accurate records of the number of meals provided to each participant. Submit this information to HDM/Nutrition Program Coordinator on an ongoing basis. \n9. Keep the HDM/Nutrition Program Coordinator informed of information that may influence decision making for the Home Delivered Meals program.\n10. Understand and be able to communicate the criteria of eligibility for a home delivered meal.\n11. Maintain confidentiality of clients, volunteers and staff. \n12. Perform all other duties as assigned by the HDM/Nutrition Support Coordinator, Outreach Services Manager and/or Nutrition Program Manager.\n\nVOLUNTEER DUTIES: \n1. Train volunteers to assist with meal packaging and other duties assigned.\n\n\nMINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: \n• High school education is mandatory. College credits in communication, both oral and written, are preferred.\n• Skills in business mathematics and computers required. \n• Valid driver’s license and reliable personal transportation required. \n\nWORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL DEMANDS:\nThis position may face physically demanding conditions including long periods of standing, walking, lifting heavy pots and food supplies, repetitive hand movements often in a fast-paced environment. Potential risk of burns, cuts, and slips due to slippery floors. Position requires good stamina and dexterity while wearing protective gear like gloves and non-slip shoes to mitigate hazards.

Valid Drivers License with insurable record is required.
