ACCOUNTANT

HOURS\nMost work hours are generally performed between 8:00am–5:00pm, Monday – Friday. Position is 40 hours per week. Occasional extra hours could be necessary, advance notice provided.\n\nThis position performs technical duties of the daily and monthly accounting functions and serves as a backup for some HR and office tasks.\n\nJOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITES\n\nAccounts Receivable/Accounts Payable:\n* Complete the Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable functions.\n* Generate daily cash and credit card reports from POS systems, count receipts, reconcile POS reports, prepare deposits, and record in accounting software.\n* Prepare and submit monthly state sales tax returns.\n* Review and initiate EFT payments.\n* Match credit card transactions to supporting receipts daily.\n* Record monthly utilities, credit card, and invoice batches in accounting software.\n* Maintain vendor files, remit payments to vendors, and complete year-end 1099 filings.\n* Prepare supporting documents and schedules for the annual financial audit and respond to auditor inquiries and records requests.\n* Assist with revenue/expense reports as assigned.\n\nOther Accounting Functions:\n* Reconcile monthly bank statements.\n* Prepare monthly adjusting journal entries for internal control purposes.\n* Evaluate and develop a records retention system for compliance.\n* Assist with ongoing records maintenance of equipment, vehicles, buildings, and contents for insurance and capital asset requirements.\n* Assist with the review and development of the Accounting Policies and Procedures Handbook.\n* Maintain a detailed instruction manual of Accountant position duties for cross training purposes.\n* Perform other duties as assigned. \n \nMINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE\n\n* Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or a related field.\n* Minimum of 2-3 years of high-level accounting experience required.\n\nKNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES\n\n* Knowledge and education in accounting and auditing principles, practices, and procedures.\n* Knowledge of payroll and benefits processes, rules and regulations, and ability to adapt to changes in requirements.\n* Skill in Microsoft Office products, with an emphasis in Excel, accounting software applications, and 10-key operation.\n* Strong attention to detail, with the ability to perform accurate, efficient, organized and complete work.\n* Ability to maintain confidentiality with sensitive employee information.\n* Strong interpersonal and communication skills.\n* Ability to work independently and as a member of a team.\n\nPOSITION REQUIREMENTS\n* Must have a valid driver’s license.\n* All candidates are subject to a background check.\n* Able to pass random drug and alcohol tests.\n \nBenefits:\n\n* Dental insurance\n* Vision\n* Health insurance\n* Life insurance\n* Employee discount\n* Accident Insurance\n* Paid time off\n\nSubmit an updated resume to us on our home page
