ARCHITECTURAL DRAFTER

• We are seeking a full-time Drafter to support our in-house architectural department for residential and select commercial projects. This role focuses primarily on drafting, modeling, and documentation under the direction of the Architect.\n• The Drafter will play a key role in accelerating design timelines, improving drawing consistency, and supporting a more efficient design-build workflow. This position reports directly to the Lead Architect, and works closely with internal design, pre-construction, and construction teams.\n\n\nKey Responsibilities\n________________________________________\nExperience & Qualifications\n• Minimum 2–3 years of professional Revit experience\n• Minimum 2–3 years of AutoCAD experience (for collaboration and legacy projects)\n• Proficient with general office software (Word, Excel, Outlook)\n• Preferred but not required:\no SketchUp (3D modeling)\no Chief Architect drafting software\n________________________________________\nDrafting & Design Responsibilities\n• Translate architectural design concepts into technical drawings\n• Create:\no Floor plans\no Elevations\no Building sections\no Construction details\n• Assist with layout and organization of construction document sets for review and permitting\n• Produce 3D models and rendered elements as needed\n• Prepare presentation documents to support internal reviews and client meetings\n• Quickly sketch and model design concepts and alternatives\n• Efficiently draft multiple design options when requested\n• Apply critical thinking, communication, and problem-solving skills to develop creative, buildable design outcomes\n• Demonstrate an understanding of building construction, drafting tools, and building techniques\n• Maintain a general understanding of comprehensive construction documentation and required drawing standards\n________________________________________\nDocumentation, Standards & Quality Control\n• Build and maintain company drafting standards and Revit library\n• Adhere to company Standard Operating Procedures and quality control requirements\n• Ensure drawings are accurate, coordinated, and internally consistent\n• Track design revisions, redlines, and decisions and implement changes correctly\n• Review drawing sets for clarity and completeness prior to internal review\n\n________________________________________\nClient Interaction & Communication Standards\n• Support the architectural team in maintaining a high-quality client experience\n• Participate in initial client meetings when requested (typically in person)\n• Architects/Drafters are responsible for:\no Taking meeting notes\no Tracking design changes\no Implementing approved revisions into drawings\n• All client meetings are scheduled and initiated by the architectural team\n• The next client interaction is always scheduled before concluding the current meeting\n• Help ensure clients never feel they have “fallen through the cracks” during design\n________________________________________\nDesign-Build Collaboration\n• Work closely with:\no Architect and architectural team\no Interior designers\no Pre-construction and construction teams\n• Collaborate early to identify and resolve design or constructability issues\n• Support design decisions that align with client budget and project goals\n• Assist with preparation of clear documentation that reduces downstream rework\n________________________________________\nCode Awareness & Permitting Support\n• Maintain general awareness of applicable building codes and requirements\n• Flag potential code-related issues for review by the Architect\n• Assist the Architect with permit-ready drawing sets and submittal preparation\n• Support pre-submittal coordination as directed\n________________________________________\nTeamwork, Culture & Professional Development\n• Report directly to the Architectural Manager \n• Contribute positively to company's internal team culture\n• Participate in:\no Internal learning and growth opportunities\no Cross-team construction instruction and jobsite exposure\no Company initiatives such as the Parade of Homes when requested\n• Work collaboratively to help create a seamless connection between design and build\n• Demonstrate a desire to learn, create, and adapt as industry standards and processes evolve\n• Maintain an interest in current and future architectural and design trends
