Wage is $24.90/hour Position qualifies for a house stipend.
Provide engineering support services on plant systems and projects to ensure economical, reliable, safe and efficient operations within North Dakota Generation generating facilities.
Assists Power Generation & Engineering Services in the completion of projects in accordance with GRE standards.
Monitor project expenditures
Establish and maintain schedules
Design project specifications
Drives GRE vehicles to other sites
Provides engineering assistance on new and existing plant equipment and projects to ensure safe and efficient plant operations, as well as performs routine engineering duties.
Conduct calculations, tests and GRE established engineering procedures
Assist with analysis and technical assessments, record condition and other measurements of equipment in or related to the generation facilities.
Research, perform studies and evaluate current equipment failures and system changes to maintenance and operational procedures and practices to achieve optimum system and equipment performance.
Draw plans, conduct surveys, and researches structures or equipment to correct or resolve operating problems and conditions
Maintains Heat Rate awareness and promotes the reduction of heat rate by participation on teams and through project design.
Must be enrolled in college and have attained third year status in an engineering curriculum from an Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET) accredited institution. General engineering knowledge and experience obtained through college curriculum. Previous co-op, internship and/or work experience is preferred. Must have a valid driver’s license.

Working conditions include office and plant environments. Equipment and systems inspections require working in high places, with physical movement including bending, twisting and climbing. Exposed to noise, vibration and dust. May be asked to work periodic shift work schedules, work extra hours and report to the plant during non-scheduled working periods. May be required to attend seminars, conferences, and meetings and travel away from the regular work place. Required to wear personal protective equipment. Must have valid driver’s license. Must be able to perform the essential functions of the job.
